Use the power of affirmations
It was the year 2007. I was battling postpartum depression and a host of other health issues. My self-esteem and bank balance had hit rock bottom.
One day, a mentor called me.
โI want to invite you to my team. There is a good project that pays well. You can work from home.โ
I was excited but scared. My response was hesitant.
โI havenโt written in over a year. I donโt think I can write.โ
My mentor wasnโt ready to take no for an answer.
I still remember his words:
โWriting is like riding a bicycle. You have it in you. Just change the mental dialogue.โ
It took some work. But, soon enough, I found my spark and started writing again.

The answer is simple โ with positive affirmations.
- Contemplate on areas of life you want to change: Be realistic and write down things you want to change.
- Be aware of negative thought patterns: Limiting beliefs, self-hate, and anything that begins with โI canโt.โ
- Forgive yourself: Be compassionate and choose to forgive yourself.
Write your positive affirmations in the present tense. - Begin the affirmations with โI amโฆ.โ
- Read out the affirmation aloud in front of the mirror every morning.
- Believe in yourself.
