Oh! You’re here again!

Lessons learned don’t last…

Dear past, let me explain:

Your place is in the past!

You think you can outsmart

My logical, reasoning brain

By handing the emotional part

Weapons to inflict pain.

But I figured out your game

Of distractions to kill time

As the heart takes the blame

Though innocent of the crime.

Locking you away

Has not helped me.

The only viable way

Is to set you free.
